Dying your hair blonde?

Have medium/darker auburn hair naturally. Really want to try blonde. Not out of a box at a drug store, it would be done by a professional. How damaging is it for your hair? I know bleach is involved so I'm iffy on it for the reason that I don't want my hair fried. Any help would be awesome, thanks!(:

It is very damaging to your hair. Once you put bleach on your scalp, that means that it reaches the follicle, and that causes permanent damage. If you do want to go blonde, you should do it in 2 or 3 sessions to prevent damage to your hair. Getting it done by a professional is best, and using a deep conditioning mask will really help too.

Going to a professional is definitely best :).

Luckily there are better products available to professionals. All bleach will damage the hair, but professionals will have better quality. Do deep conditioning treatments... I love Sebastian Penetrate or Wella Luxe Oil Keratin treatment (your stylist may be able to get these for you).
