The pity is that Geography is reduced to a set of slogans that they keep repeating at appropriate times, "Baa Baa Black sheep..." style.
This mindless sloganeering should be discouraged & censured. People should be taught to think. I am relentless against this Euro-centric view of the world & Mercator Projection of map. The Imperial era in world politics is long dead & buried. Even now some claim an Antarctic Ocean. For too long we were taught that Missouri-Mississippi is the longest river - merely because the others didn't measure the length of their rivers properly. Even now there is debate on the length of Nile & where it was born. Water from anywhere that finally flows past Cairo is considered River Nile. Now Missouri-Mississippi (since Mississippi on its own has no big length ) is behind the Nile, Amazon & Yangtze. Now what is left of the credibility of the American sources, except the tag that they are liars?
Another thing is that guys have no concept of a mountain as different from a peak. It isn't just a cone on an isolated plain or flatland that I call a mountain. Then Kilima`njaro alone can be called one.
These guys have a knack of presenting untruths, illusions & notions born out of wishful thinking that can't have any appeal to Sanity. What is wrong in running them down to underground?
