I need help with rumors being spread about me. I need advice on how I handled it.?
So I m new at a small college and someone here had begun spreading rumors about me from the beginning that were outright lies. I eventually, confront him and demand a written apology and, after talking to my friend about it. She said I was wrong for demanding it in writing. I believe that because he had spent months lying about me his words are meaningless and regardless of whether he means it I want an admission of guilt on paper. Am I right or wrong?

I am new too and I know how that feel. Do you have any close friends? I think the best way to handle it is to ignore those people. You know there are lying and tell your best friends about it and rumors will spread again about it. You can also tell the teachers about it. But what I did is just simply ignore it because they might have something ELSE to say about you when you report them.

I think you are right. ESPECIALLY in collage, although they seem like rumours they can effect your future, because teachers and faculty hear wind of these rumours. BUT what exctly were these rumours? If they were like about you chewing pencils, then a written apology would be slightly harsh. But if they were rumours about you doing drugs then a written a apology is definitly okay. Obviously the collage is full of mature people, so people probaly couldn't care. Thats probably why your friend said that a written apology was harsh. Because spreading rumours are so childish.
