Sick leopard gecko!?

my female leopard geckos hasn't eaten for almost a month which I didn't consider too bad but obviously not good but now she is having shedding problems and isn't eating and her tail is getting thinner. I have an undertank heater and I use paper towels as substrate. I was been handling her a lot because I needed to get the stuck shed off her toes so that had to stress her. I really want to to take her to the vet but my mom said no. I emailed the vet myself and they said an exam Would run at about $75 plus any medications. What do I do?? Help please

Thank u :)

The first step is to help with her shedding, which is going to require some handling. Go to the store and pick up a can of chicken with chicken gravy baby food and a bottle of unflavored Pedialtye. These two items will be found in the baby aisle and will cost you $5.00-$10.00. At home mix together a ratio of one half Pedialyte with one half warm water. Put your leopard gecko in the mixture and let her soak with 10-20 minutes. If you need to (like if her shed is stuck on her eyes, toes, or tail) then you can use a Q-Tip and gently roll off the shed. The next step is to get her to start eating. With the chicken baby food, mix it together with some of the unflavored Pedialyte and mashed insects/worms (dubia roaches, crickets, mealworms, some waxworms, or small superoworms if she's over a year old.) Using another clean Q-Tip, place a pea-sized amount of the mixture on the tip of her nose. Since the baby food is actually quite smelly, she will lick it off of her nose. This will act as "boost" and hopefully get her back into the flow of eating. This mixture is very good for her so you can do this every night until she starts eating again- put 1-3 pea-sized droplets on her nose each feeding. I know you said that your mom won't bring her to a vet, but that's actually what she needs. Tell your mom that it's not fair to let her suffer and starve. If she is set on saying no, then I hope my procedure works for you, which it most likely will. Hope this helps :) and good luck :)

    P.S. Keep me updated.
