Is it possible for a 16 year old minor immigrant to be deported without his family?

Hi, so i live in the United States, it Texas to be exact. Well on of my friends is from England. And he is not technically a U.S. Citizen. He has his green card. My friend is 15 years old by the way. Well his brother, who is 16 (almost 17) years old, is like a huge law breaker. His brother shoplifts all the time, he steals my friend's identification all the time, he is a huge druggy, and he drinks all the time. He is also violent. Like the other day, he took a guitar, and his his mom very hard on the head with it. Her head literally went through the guitar. It cracked her skull. His mom didn't press charges though. But he is escalating. My friend is worried about getting deported because of his brother. So he wants to know like the the details and what all is involved with deportation. Specifically, he wants to know if it is possible for JUST his brother to get deported back to England, while him and the rest of his family would be able to stay in the U.S.. Is that possible? Or does him and the rest of his family have to get deported with his brother?

Absolutely. If, for example, police had been involved when he hit his mom with the guitar over the head, he'd be in jail now, charged with assault and surely get to spend time in prison. He'd be deported for sure afterward. If still a minor, his parents could make arrangements of who can take care of him in his home country, or a parent could choose to accompany him.

Since you asked, let me give you another example. If an illegal alien parent is deported from the United States, it has no impact on the children. But in most cases the parent would choose to take their child or children with them, even if those children are US citizens. It's the parents' decision to do what they think is in the best interest of their children.

Tell your friend that your brother is a pubic hair away from being deported. One such stunt is enough for a Green Card holder to lose it all.

well, it's possible as Brother notes. any drug conviction would certainlymake it happen fast enough. However, what would the family do if it happened? they might just choose to go back with their wayward son. so, even though they wouldn't be deported, it might well have the same effect.

Yes. We do not imprison or deport family members for the actions of their relatives. But it sounds like the family had better have him sent to a strict military academy or committed to a juvenile mental hospital before the courts do.
