Can you take time off college because of depression?
I have depression and it's mainly because of college, just the thought of going back after Easter holidays makes me so upset. I want to stay at home and do my college work from here for a few days maybe a week or two or if there's days where my depression is bad and I CANT go to school that day because it makes me that upset. Is that possible or is there rules or laws saying I can't or are there acceptions for people with mental illnesses? My holiday is 2 weeks and even after 2 weeks of being home and doing nothing I'm still not looking froward to going back

Dude, I was in the same boat. I'm eighteen and I left university. I wouldn't recommend it especially if you have a loan, but you most definitely can take time off, theres alternatives like doing your assignments at home. Talk to your professors. Maybe you need a year off, you can always go back its never too late! Or even consider medication it will help you get through the day, but the important thing is that you do whats good for you. If you're not ready to go back then stay off if you take time off, if you feel like its not a good place for you right now then go back next year or whatever works for you. One thing I have to tell you is they can be strict so make sure you make it completely clear to whoever you speak to that you truly need time off to work on yourself. Sometimes they'll try and convince you to stay, but do whats right for you.
