The Gold Coast Suns seem to have taken two steps backward?

I know the explanation given by Gold Coast Suns Management, but can anyone genuinely explain to me why you would take a perfectly good team (even without Gazza last year) on the rise and replace their perfectly good coach, Guy McKenna, with someone who coaches in the style of Rodney Eade? They've gone from exciting, adventurous, hard running, creative football to Little boys lost

Gold Coast knew they would play finals in 2015 under McKenna but sacked him because thought they could lure Roo's away from Melbourne. It was a big mistake, when that failed they looked to Thompson but he wanted Essendon and was only talking to them to leverage his position there.

So with Mckenna gone, Roos signing with Melbourne, Thompson skipping the country the Suns were out of options and lured Eade back to senior coaching when he hadn't even applied for the job. And it'll be a disaster because despite taking a good team to a GF in his first year as coach 20 years ago he's never taken a list forward, because he's at best an analyst. Knows the game well but hasn't got a track record of buy in from his players. Suns will go backwards and he'll get dumped in 18 months and Gaz will go back to Geelong.

Guy's coaching stats trend upwards to 45.4 % wins in 2014 and the board thought he couldn't take them to the next level... so they didn't give him the chance and instead brought in Eade, who's record at both Sydney & WB trended downwards over time with a career average of 53.6%. It simply made no sense. Now to be beaten by teams in 2015 which they easily accounted for in 2014 is MORE than 2 backward steps ! Maybe the team is showing the board just what THEY think of Bluey's sacking ?

The sacking was ridiculous...granted its just round 2, lots to come yet...but I think McKenna can feel hard done by. I thought he was on the right track.
