No pine or cedar shavings for bunnies. The shavings emit harmful phenols.
The most effective litter is not wood shavings (or mulch), but wood pellets -- like the kind used for pellet stoves or for horse stalls. You can see what these wood pellets look like at my site on this page:

The wood stove pellets can be found at hardware stores. The wood horse stall pellets (not crumbled) can be sometimes found at feed supply stores. But click on the site link so that you can *see* what they actually look like.

Farming supply and pet supply stores will usually sell bundles of pine shavings for pretty cheap.
