Help in excel!?
I am stocking up on alcohol for my wedding, we are trying to make a formula that will tell us how much of the different types of alcohol we have. So we need it to add the amount of the different types of liquor we have. our lay out is like this.
Name, Type Bottles Size Total Whiskey Tequila Vodka
Jose Tequila 1 750 750 Total amount
Jack Whiskey 1 1750 1750 # of Bottles
Patron Tequila 1 750 750
so on the right side we want it to be able to tell us how much whiskey we have into the cells below. Thanks for any suggestions. willing to reformat if necessary.
It condensed my sample spread sheet
I am not trying to figure out how much we need just a way for it to calculate how much we have. of different types.

You are looking to do the math for how much you have or how much you need? 17 drinks/750mL. I would create a matrix for the amount of drinks each person could have. Then have a data cell for the number of people attending.
you figure conservatively 8-10 drinks a person, multiply by your persons attending. Then you know your total alcohol requirement by mL.
Next, I'd establish a percentage for each in terms of what people drink. Assuming more will drink Vodka/Whiskey over Tequila. Like a 40%, 40%, 20%. So i'd multiple the total liquor by the percentage breakdowns and know how much per each variety. That's how I'd go about it at least.
That way, you at least know you have enough booze for everyone to have a good time/not remember much until the next day. Congrats!

The nice thing about spirits is they last a long time. Go to Costco or Sam's club and stock up. You two are the only two who know how hard your people party.
Are you hiring a bartender? How many guests? You left out these tiny details yet you are creating a ******* spreadsheet. Get a life you cheapskate.
Wine, Beer and Champagne, once opened do not.
Most of your guests will join you in a champagne toast. A bottle of 750ml champagne or wine, has 4-5 glasses.

looks like you want a "pivot table"
you can watch youtube on how to make one.
i made a small one based on the data.
i assumed you dropped your bottle of Jose and broke it.
and i added generic vodka to the table
let me know what version of excel you have and i can give you a click by click
heres a picture of size...you would uncheckmark size and checkmark bottles
