Why do Jehovah Witnesses lie about Christian practices and Church beliefs to promote their Arian sect?

Everything they claim about the Catholic Church's beliefs and practices are lies from the depths of hell. Have they no fear of God from telling such egregious lies about the only Church Jesus and His Disciples founded?

They just repeat what their literature says about the "churches of Christendom". It isn't just about Catholicism, it's Protestants too. They have no clue because they won't set foot in a church. Those that left Christian churches to join the JWs obviously never knew anything about the Bible or Christian teachings to begin with. If they had, they wouldn't have been snatched out of the hand of God and delivered into the kingdom of Satan. That says they never belonged to God - and still don't. Very tragic. We should all pray for their salvation.

I'm as staunch an opponent to JWism as there is.

I passionately believe they are either deceived in deceivers. I choose to believe the former lest they're actions prove them the later.

However, for a priest you exhibit a remarkable lack of education or knowledge which is starved of love.

In the first place if someone says something that is untrue does that entitle you to call them a liar? The answer is factual and biblical. To call someone a liar means you not only know that they are saying something untrue but most importantly you know they know it's untrue ... in other words intentional. Unless you have some kind of divinely given insight then you are judging them without knowing... and as you judge so shall you be judged!

Perhaps brother you would be better served by toning down the Catholic arrogance, swallowing some of Christ's love and humility and most of all focusing on issues of truth and salvation rather than mud slinging accusations!

They are spreading misinformation about us Catholics and other groups but they are not lying since they actually believe it

We need to correct them in love

and they need to correct us in love if we are misrepresenting their teachings

There really is no excuse for spreading misinformation when on the Net one can find out what groups actually teach( such as Mormon.org and Jw,org and Vatican)

All the Watchtower has in common with Arianism( of the school that the Word is created) is the teaching that Jesus is not of the same substance as Jehovah

otherwise, JWs would find all the forms of classical 4th -5th century Arianism too Catholic liturgically, in church order,,etc

We need to direct JWs and other groups that claim we are pagan and misrepresent us to the Catechism of the Catholic Church to find actual Catholic and Trinitarian teachings

and we should arm ourselves by being familiar with apologist's work ( such as Fr Pacwa, Scott Hahn, EWTN, Catholic Answers) in answering JW and others' attacks

We need to answer in love because any other way will just push the others further away

Pray for those hostile to us is needed and pray for our own individual continued conversion to the beatitudes and to living the teachings we believe

    behavior is the best witness

Terry, yes, we say that the Church is the true church and not your institution which has no history going back to the Apostles or even200 years ago

Catholics, including Catholic leaders ,have not always followed the teachings of the Church

Catholic leaders have frequently admitted the evils done in the name of Christ and His Church and condemn that

The Catholic Church in its highest leadership is today advancing the religious liberty and rights even of those who condemn us today

Note that anti- Catholics always bring up things done centuries ago and condemn us Catholics of today

To them, though, they aren't lies.

While they are not accurate depictions of Catholicism, they actually believe that's what Catholics believe and that it's the Catholics that lie to themselves and the world.

Jehovah's Witnesses lie because they are a cult. Most members are well-intentioned, but the strict autocratic leadership shows the groups true colors. Shunning ("disfellowshipping"), child abuse cover ups, domestic abuse cover ups, refusal of life saving blood transfusions, and more are all reasons to avoid this dangerous cult.

I don't see what makes Arianism more or less ridiculous than Orthodoxy. You both believe a man god was born from a virgin and died on the cross to save you from the sin he cursed you with, except he invalidated his own sacrifice by coming back to life three days after his body was de-composing.

    Really?

What exactly have they lied about? Everything I heard seemed to be on par with what I've seen.

WE PROMOTE BIBLE TRUTH AND NOT PAGAN LIES LIKE THE TRINITY DOCTRINE

Nowhere in the Bible does it conclusively say that Jesus is God. Instead, the Bible repeatedly refers to Jesus as the "son of God". Because the Bible describes Jesus as the second oldest and second most important person in the universe (Prov. 8:22), the Bible calls Jesus:

    the "only-begotten Son" of God. (John 1:14; 3:16, 18; 1 John 4:9)

"the first-born of all creation". (Colossians 1:15)

"the beginning of God's creation". (Revelation 3:14)

The Bible shows that Jesus is subordinate to God: "The head of the Christ is God." (1 Corinthians 11:3) Jesus himself said: "The Father is greater than I am." (John 14:28)
