Is it smart to buy an apple watch without having an iPhone?

No, it can only work correctly with an iPhone. When the apple watch was announced I started saving for it but I had a iPhone 4s and I need a 5 and a above for it to function so I bought a iPhone 6, don't get the apple watch without a iPhone 5 or higher unless you just want to get it now and buy the phone later. I recommend not doing that though, I'm Savin for the watch right now

Start saving the hell out of as you'll need a lot of money to buy both Apple 5 or 6/6plus and an Apple watch. Or else you can get an iPhone on rent and buy the watch. There are a lot of companies which are offering iPhones on rent, not sure they'll even offer Apple watch as well. Convenient option that is..!!!

I didn't have an iPhone either, since I use an iTouch. But the Apple Watch is very intriguing so I got a second hand iPhone 5 instead. The apple watch is great so far, and it is so much more convenient seeing all your notifications on your wrist! I'm very satisfied with it.

Right - the apple watch needs an iPhone to work - and iOS 8 and above. So that rules out a lot of the older phones.

It amazes me how stupid people will be for fashion accessories but I doubt it would work without you having an iPhone to sync it to. You'd probably need a newer iPhone (keep in mind these smart watches probably won't even connect to iphone 5s probably but definitely nothing before that... Maybe the 5) to connect it to. Please just invest in a smart exercise band if you want but not this. It probably won't work

Well, it would serve no other purpose than to tell time. But then again, watches are mostly accessories, so yea sure go for it. Keep in mind that Kijiji and Craigslist sell VERY cheap previous iPhones for like $50~300, so you can have an iPhone to sync it to after all.

Well, you would only be able to see the time without an iPhone. Get a G-Shock.

No, you wouldn't be able to use most of the features as it is built around the iPhone.
