Insulating furnace vent pipe to prevent condensation drip?

Update:

When my new forced air furnace was installed they ran two 4" PVC pipes for air intake and exhaust out laterally through my basement to the exterior. The intake one tends to collect condensation as it draws in cold air during the Winter and it causes a very small puddle on the basement floor. I figure wrapping it with some kind of insulation would probably mitigate this -- would I risk having dampness trapped inside the insulation and create a mold issue?

Insulating combustion air piping is common, especially if the pipe passes through unconditioned space. The important part of wrapping combustion air is creating a vapor barrier. Make sure the insulation is faced with vinyl, foil or mylar and tape all seams air tight.
