When lightning hits the car, where does the electricity go?

the tires are rubbers so i dont think they conduct electricity and transfer it to the ground, do they? where does the energy go? the car absorbs it? it goes to the car battery?

    Forget about the tires. The lightning has just jumped through the air from a cloud to the car. What makes you think it couldn't simply travel through the car and then jump from the car body to the ground?

    Rubber is insulator for small voltages.In lightning millions of volts acts and it can pass through car tyre.
