Long version:
Obtain a provisional Category A licence.
Complete the C.B.T. (Compulsory Basic Training) course.
Take and pass the motorcycle theory test.
Take and pass both Category A1 motorcycle practical tests (this will allow you to ride motorcycles up to 125cc).
Take and pass both Category A2 motorcycle tests (this will allow you to ride any bike, with less than 46.6bhp).
Take and pass both Category A motorcycle tests (this will allow you to ride any motorcyle you want).
Getting to this stage will take many, many months
Short version (as you are over 24 years old):
Obtain a provisional Category A licence.
Go the 'Direct Access' route. This will take you from C.B.T to a full Category A licence, in about 7-10 days.
