Why do people smoke in their cars, but throw the butts out the window?

I'm a smoker but I never throw my butts out the window. I have an ashtray that I put my butts in.

Hmm, throw the lit butt onto the car's floor mat while driving, or just throw it onto the street without the worry of burning anything? Sounds like a tough choice to me, if I was a smoker.

I could never lift a butt and throw it while I'm driving.

I would wreck.

Especially if it were a BBW butt.
