Is a quiet engine a healthy one?

My car is a 2000 Buick Century. When I drive in a parking lot sometimes people don't seem to hear my car coming and walk right in front of me. I use a quart of oil every thousand miles which I guess isn't bad. My car engine seems quiet to me. Is a quiet engine a healthy one and does it sound like mine is good except for oil use?

Quiet is healthy. The oil consumption is bordering on problematic. Since it is 15 years old, I assume it has high mileage. I would consider using thicker oil, maybe 20w-50. It might burn less of it.
