Christian looking into Islam, Where do I start? thanks!?
I'm a Christian looking into Islam(Just curious), I just want to make sure that what I believe is the truth. So I want to buy a Quran(in English) is there any certain one you'd recommend for beginners? Also, where do I start? Is there certain verses I should read first?
Thank you!

The Quran is hard to understand (for me at least, since I can't read Arabic). They don't make simpler versions of it because it is not allowed. It could be misinterpreted, mistranslated (which is why we typically read it in Arabic), or changed even more. There isn't really a place to start, to be honest. I would recommend learning about the Prophet (PBUH) first, then going into other prophets and so on. If you want, you can email me at
sara.jasim01@gmail.com. I've been reading and researching a lot about the Quran lately and I'm very good at explaining things, why things happen, the kind of stuff people don't realize until they're older or never at all. You could also go to your local Masjad and talk to the Iman (eeman) there, but I feel like a lot of people don't explain Islam the right way. They explain it like they would to a person who is already a content believer, not someone who is of a different religion. On that note, if you are serious about Islam try to forget everything you've learned about Christianity so you don't get mixed up. I think I'm going on a tangent haha so I guess I'll end here. I hope you find the right path soon :)

There are some good answers here. Just let me add that it might help to also do some research on Islamic culture -- study art and architecture, history, read some poetry.
I studied Art in university, and got some good exposure to Islamic culture, which is rich and remarkable, and has contributed a great deal to the evolution of the modern western world.

Start by buying a Quran with English translations. Also, There are many apps out there that are free that have the Quran with English translations as well as a description below the text. Look on YouTube as well. Yusuf Estes is a great scholar. He is a Christian convert from Texas. I wish you the best of luck and hope God guides you in the right direction :)

I read through half of a Quran out of curiosity. Coming from my Christian background, it read very similar to the Bible- Basically "Do what I say or I will torture you forever!", A general disregard for women, barbarism, etc.
Like it was written by iron age desert dwellers, not an omniscient being.
Organized religions exist to control people. Use your own mind to figure out what you believe, don't just latch onto some religion.

I am an atheist and I was a Muslim. If you live surrounded by a REAL Muslims who likes to show their loves, respect and peace, you might be cry of there kindness. But sadly I don't believe in any religion as truth. But if you BELIEVE in Islam as a truth and pray to Allah and not commit any sin, you might get the greatest peace of mind.
What about start your searching with google? :)

Stick to only Quran. Understand its words rather than just reading it like mainstream Muslims. Do note that the translations have some distortion. You have to be very careful when you start reading the Quran. Some religious folks will tell you to read hadith books because they talk about how a Muslim should be. Unfortunately, hadith books have only hearsays credited to Prophet Muhammad.

Muslims believe that Isah Al Masih (Jesus the Messiah) is just a normal prophet, yet, they believe that he was born from a virgin like in the Christian version. Why would God made this prophet born from a virgin ? Also, although Muslims do not believe that Jesus is Son of God, they believe that Jesus is Messiah and will return at the end of times. Another weird thing is, Muslims believe that bible is corrupted, if it is so, then why did Allah let it happened ? I'm sure the all mighty, all knowing God knew that it would happen.

There are translated versions available at most libraries. Don't forget where you stand in your faith though, don't fall for Christianity and Islam being the same.

Why would you watch a lie from hell? Ugh. Even athiests have to admit Jesus walked among us and was crucified. And we know resurrected. Islam won t even admit that. It is a lie from hell that speaks with no truth or authority and can t even tell you if their false prophet is in heaven. Get a kjversion Bible and believe. See,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqKqRHNVYb0 and so on. Also see testimonies unto this day, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvvClFSMIzA and so on. The Word destroyed the old lies now called myths and lessened the occult. SO they literally had to make up new lies to deceive people like buddhism and islam. You can t make this stuff up. Here is wisdom: "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."- The Word of God. Get a kjversion Bible and believe.
