Is it true that J.K. Rowling was homeless while writing the first Harry Potter book?

I've heard many stories. That she was homeless in a cafe and writing her book every day. I want the TRUTH!!

    She wasn't homeless. She just had trouble affording to heat her apartment, and wrote in the cafe (which belonged to her brother-in-law) because it was warmer.

    No, she just hung out in the cafe because she liked the atmosphere and the drinks. She was unemployed and poor, though.
