A large object just fell through the sky near me, it looked like a falling star, but it was much larger.?
We live near Ocala, Florida (Marion County) and have never seen anything like it. We think it was a meteorite, but we were too busy running through our house like chickens with our heads come off to hear any sort of boom. If anyone saw anything similar, or heard something on the news concerning anything. The next meteor shower for us is May fifth. It is April 30 for anyone who cares.
We just saw another one...

Other people have reported this object.
You can as well.
See the reports of other people here . http://www.amsmeteors.org/members/imo_view/browse_...
and see the main site here
The American Meteor Society wants people to submit reports. The information helps determine where the object came from in space -- and where any meteorites would be likely to have fallen.
The info is updated continuously. But it takes a week or so for a report to appear on the main page.

It sounds like it was a fireball or bolide, an unusually large meteor. Sporadic meteors like this are not part of any meteor shower, but are just random pieces of interplanetary material which cross paths with the Earth and burn up in its atmosphere.
