Is it common to have a diverse music preference?

It seems like these days, everyone sticks to one or two genres and think those genres are the holy grail of music. I'm willing to listen to just about anything from Bob Marley to Three Days Grace as long as I enjoy it. Some of the genres I like listening to reggae, baroque, soul, r&b, metal, alternative rock, blues, jazz, electronica, and rap.

Update:

Well, some of my favorite artists are Bob Marley & children, Soja, Three Days Grace, Metallica, Seether, Trey Songz, Chuck Mangione, Kenny G, Led Zeppelin, Ac/dc, Martin Jondo, Biggie Smallz, Tupac, pepper, Sons of Zion, thai, j boog, sycamour, iration, rebelution, boys 2 men, amon amarth, 77 jefferson, kolohe kai, Francis Terrega, Juan Serrano. And yes, I admit to enjoy Lil Wayne and others like him from time to time.

Of course it's common for people who are more open-minded about music to have more diverse taste than people who limit themselves to only a few types of music.

I think everyone will listen to almost any genre if they have no choice, but if they can pick something they have a favorite one or two genres. I personally listen to a wide variety of music electronic, pop, anything rock, nu metal, some rap and some country

Good answers but it's only after you lose the word "genres" that you'll be truly free. It will come.
