I had a job interview, but the interviewer did not ask me any questions. What does this mean?
I had a job interview yesterday morning. It was a simple interview for an on campus job. I had already filled out an application and turned in a resume to the supervisor via e-mail within the last week before she had called some people in for an interview. I would say that I have the qualifications necessary for the job, I mean it is a front desk job and I've worked at such places that deal with answering calls and talking to people. Basically all she did was tell me about the position and then ask me if I had any questions, I asked her like 3 questions and told her my availability hours. What does this mean?? I've never had an interview where the interviewer had no questions for me and I'm confused. Honest answers please!

My first interview was very informal. I think I was only asked 3 questions about the role (in a childrens nursery) and then it was more of a chat and a look around.
So I wouldn't worry too much - it may be that she wanted to get a feel of you as a person. It may be that she has all the info she needs to make a decision. It may be she found the ideal candidate and just "interviewed" you to say she had (very unfair on the candidates in my opinion - regardless if a decision has been made, each candidate should be treated the same).

If you weren't told to show up for work, then I would assume that you did not get the job. The interview was to see if a better candidate was available than was already seen, and I guess you weren't it. Maybe you will get a call asking why you aren't at work, in that case, congratulations, you got the job. Did you call and ask for any follow up? That might go a long way to clear all this up.

It means the interviewer has check out. Honestly it's probably a good thing, just means they probably think you are ok for the job and questions were not necessary. Could mean they've already chosen someone else and so questions were not necessary, but who really knows. Nothing to do but sit back and see if you get the job.

The job does not need specialist knowledge or qualifications. Basically she will pick someone whom she likes, who she thinks the customers will like and who looks smart and friendly. Anything else the interviewer wants to know about you should be answered in the application form.
