Have jury duty and no transportation?

I have jury duty coming up soon and my car is dead. I live 20 miles away and not about to walk. The van could take me but it is too early for them. I have no friends around that are willing to take me. Does someone have any suggestions? I have to be there at 8:00 am. No money to stay over night in a motel.

    Report the problem to them, perhaps through their website.

    Check to see if you could get a later assignment, so you have time to get your car fixed.

    You need to inform them ASAP. When I was younger, I was assigned jury duty but I had three small children and couldn't afford daycare for them. I explained it to the court and they excused me.

    I think they'll be understanding.

    just ignore the summons and hope for the best
