What phone should I get?

Never had a phone before (17 years of age), and I am at that point in life where I would need one. (some info you may or may not want to know) I don't download a lot, but I do go on YouTube and Facebook through out my day. And I listen to music quite a lot in one day. I don't talk on the phone, and I may do texting. So... with this info, what phone do you recommend? Price doesn't matter to me.

Microsoft Lumia 640 or 640XL. XL has a larger screen and better camera. Not expensive, but most Windows phones aren't.

Several others... Lumia 830, Lumia 1520 if you can find one (6" screen, not a pocket phone, but great for watching videos without having to squint!) even a 530 is OK.

The high end Android stuff has become so bloated that the latest hardware is needed to just start the system, and then you can't do anything with it. 3gigs of RAM filled with 73 programs that think they have to run at start, using your data to phone home every 15 minutes and your battery that should last all day gets 6 hours tops. If you go high end, stay away from Samsung, which is the worst at this. HTC or LG, although they aren't immune to the bloatware either. Just not as much of it.

I have and use an Android phone, not quite as much bloatware on this one though. Been at Android since v1.7, watched it get bigger and bigger and less and less useful.

    iPhone... just bleh.

Well in this matter it is a tough question to answer. Smartphones are meant to fit to a persons needs and i don't know what needs you have or want to expect to get out of a phone. But you did say you don't download much. But people change. As you said your only 17 so you are just starting to begin life. Depending on what you do on a day to day basis for the next 2 to 4 years, i would suggest maybe an iPhone 6 plus only if you have big hands and want a bigger phone. But if you are ok with iPhones then i would suggest the iPhone 6. This would be a great investmant for you since you don't really download anything or call anyone so this should do for at lat 3 years to 4.

IPhone 5: Budget phone and a good comprimise between price and power.

Galaxy S4 : Gotten cheaper. S5 has unnecassary features and the S6 is just ripping off the iPhone.

I doubt you'll like any windows phones but you can get an HTC Windows Phone 8S

You can get along fine with an iPhone but it won't do as much as a Samsung galaxy phone or windows. Heres my recommendations:

    iPhone 5, 5s, or 6

    Samsung galaxy S4 or S5

    Samsung note 3 or 4

Get the Galaxy S5 by Samsung and a good data plan (4 gigabytes or higher). Unlimited talk and text are important. Disable auto-play videos in your Facebook app and watch your data usage.
