Do you believe gays are condemned?
Many people use the bible to say that we're condemned but why would god create a thing that he hates! I mean you can't say i wasn't born gay because you are not me and you don't know me. So how am i condemned.

The belief that gay sex is sinful is based on the barbaric laws and attitudes in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, Romans 1:24-27 (which also has a go at lesbianism), 1 Corinthians 6:9 and Jude 1:7. In my view, people can by all means apply the belief to themselves, but I think they're wrong to impose their hateful beliefs on others. The now failed Proposition 8 in California was a shameful example of this.
I don't accept that someone can "hate the sin but love the sinner", although I did think it made sense when I was religious. I now think that if a believer seeks to make people feel uncomfortable, or even under threat, or deprive them of personal freedoms and human rights, that behaviour is hatred of their fellow humans, and persecution of a minority, whatever else is claimed. And I also wonder why anyone would want to be associated with beliefs that are based on a lack of compassion.
Same-sex marriage will mean that more people in our society will be able to lead happy and fulfilled lives.
I came across this article by Anjana Ahuja, The Times, July 12, 2005:
In Born Gay, Dr Glenn Wilson, reader in personality at the Institute of Psychiatry in London, and Dr Qazi Rahman, a psychobiologist at the University of East London, declare that “the accumulation of evidence from independent laboratories across the world has shown that the biological differences between gay and straight people cannot be ignored . . . our sexual preference is a fundamental and immutable component of our human nature”. Wilson and Rahman’s account goes beyond whether there is a gay gene — there is no single gay gene but genes do contribute — and considers the effect of sex hormones to which foetuses are exposed in the womb.
The boldly titled book says the research leaves absolutely no room for parental or societal influence on this intimate trait. Children cannot be seduced or otherwise led into homosexuality — which makes a nonsense of Clause 28, the law banning the promotion of homosexuality — and, however overbearing the mother or absent the father, no amount of poor parenting can waylay a child born to walk the path of heterosexuality. (Note: Clause 28 was brought in by the Thatcher government. It outlawed the promotion of homosexuality. It was repealed under the Blair government.)
No serious, evidence-based scientist, they charge, would deny that sexual orientation is fixed at birth.
The authors also speculate that we face an evolutionary future in which homosexuals become more prevalent. The genes that are implicated in gayness do not just influence sexual orientation — in low doses, they might confer personality advantages to heterosexual men (such as making them loyal, empathic and considerate), turning them into attractive mates and thus propagating those genes further.

In all honesty, he loves gays. In the bible he says "Don't Judge Others". Which to me means that he created gays to see if others would judge. If being gay was honestly a sin, there wouldn't be any. I am a strong believe of God and Jesus Christ, but I don't believe when he said being gay is a sin is real. I don't believe in that part of the bible.

Homosexual acts are just one type of sin. Without Jesus Christ they are condemned as everyone else.
Here are the Ten Commandments. How do you stack up?
1.You shall have no other gods before Me.
2.You shall not make idols.
3.You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
4.Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5.Honor your father and your mother.
6.You shall not murder.
7.You shall not commit adultery.
8.You shall not steal.
9.You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10.You shall not covet.

Let me ask you this.
"Body integrity identity disorder (BIID, also referred to as amputee identity disorder[1]) is a psychological disorder wherein sufferers feel they would be happier living as an amputee."
The above disorder is treated as such and is considered very serious. People whom have been diagnosed with such are obviously not given what they want but are rather placed into institutions to assist them in getting better.
Replace two sections in that description with BIID with Gender Identity Disorder and amputee with female or male. All of a sudden, the attitude towards the subject changes. Suddenly it's their "right". Suddenly it's how they were "born." It's NOT a disorder. It's NOT an illness. Yet they are basically identical. So would you be okay with people diagnosed with BIID getting what they want? I assume not. But you're perfectly okay with someone surgically removing their perfectly fine sex organ that have extreme dangers and possible complications on account of "they've always felt they were a man/woman?"
The same could be said for homosexuality and pedophilia....GRANTED -- pedophiles whom ACT on their desires IS most definitely a crime and should be executed on the spot.
REGARDLESS, one cannot use reasons such as "I was born that way" as justification whilst simultaneously treating the other identical disorder as simply that.....a disorder. Both, unfortunately are unable to prevent feeling the way they feel. And I don't fault them on that alone.
All that being said, as far as your rights as an American...yes homosexuals should have all the same rights and should have the right to legally marry. It's their right and as long as they're not hurting anyone there's no issue there.
But why I brought up pedophiles is because of this: We are completely intolerant of any pedophile who even dares to act on their evil desires. AND for good reason!!
To the rest of America there is nothing wrong with homosexuals acting out their desires. That's the difference. To Christians---both are evil in God's eyes. Therefore, if a pedophile is capable of with holding his or her desire so should a homosexual. Temptation comes in many forms and is spoken of many times. It was never meant to be easy nor was it expected of us to be perfect. He KNEW we all would fail in some aspect. BUT that doesn't mean you can't still be saved. Just because you are a homosexual doesn't give you a one way ticket to hell. It's the decisions you make in life...the decision on whether or not you want to turn your life in the direction God wants you to be in. It's as simple as that my friend. Good luck.

Please don't allow people to condemn you. God loves you as He does everyone. When you are ready to learn about him, buy a Bible and read the book of John in the New Testament. This will show you who God really is.

No.
Nor do I think people who wear polyester blends or eat lobster on occasion are condemned.
Which I think makes me considerably more consistent in my beliefs than your average Christian.

Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all human beings have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes:
+ There is nothing sinful about being attracted to people of the same sex
+ Sexual activity is only moral when open to producing new life into the family of a married man and woman
Therefore:
+ A chaste homosexual person has committed no sin
+ A chaste heterosexual person has committed no sin
+ Homosexual lust is no worse than heterosexual lust
+ Homosexual sex is no worse than unmarried heterosexual sex
+ Homosexual sex is no worse than married heterosexual sex with contraception
+ All unmarried people (homosexual, bisexual, and heterosexual) and married people using contraception are called to celibacy
In fact, heterosexual sex outside of marriage may be morally worse than homosexual sex because the unmarried heterosexual couple has the opportunity to receive the sacrament of marriage.
The Church specifically says that people with same-sex attraction "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Official Church documents:
+ "Always Our Children: A Pastoral Message to Parents of Homosexual Children and Suggestions for Pastoral Ministers"

+ "On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons" http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm

With love in Christ.

God doesn't hate you. It's the sin that angers him. Your sin is now worse or better than the other. Repent for your sins.
It's engaging in the act that's shameful, no one is born gay.

Do you believe that God is loving?
Do you believe that God is merciful?
Do you believe that God is just?
Do you believe that such a God would ever create hell, let alone ever send anyone there?
Neither do I.
