What is the all-time best state to live in?

In the United States, which is the best state? As far as economy, population, schools, weather, activities, etc. I want to be in the best state as possible

it depends on what you like. Every state has their ups and downs, I have lived in numerous states. Some tend to be more liberal or conservative than others, some have better scenery in my opinion, some have better drivers, or economy. But If you prefer heat over cold, conservative views, hospitality, great food, reasonable living prices, enjoy culture, and can get a job practically anywhere, and you don't want the government up in your business then I would recommend Texas. But if you are more liberal you can still live in Texas, and I would recommend Austin or the surrounding area, or close to any other major city. Texas has mountains, lakes, desserts, the coast, snow, ice, heat, forests, country folk type stuff, city folk type stuff. It's huge and very diverse. It has a lot of people, but most of the cities are spread out and have a nice country view between- whether it be mountains, canyons, rivers, plateaus or just prairies. Texas does not have a state tax either, and is pretty reasonably priced as long as you aren't in a popular tourist area or major city.

There is no "best". Some states excel in education, some in scenery and climate, some in employment security and some in reasonable cost of living. But if a state has areas with pleasant climate and scenery they are likely to be ridiculously expensive to live in and not be reasonable locations for people who are not wealthy. Everyone has their own idea of what constitutes "best" so it is not the same for everyone. And each state has areas that are better and worse. And each regions fortunes change over the years. Back in the 1970's the town of Flint, Michigan, north of Detroit, had one of the highest average working class incomes in the country because of the well-paid union work in the auto industry. When the car companies fell on hard times in the 80's as imports took over, and they eventually moved production to open shop states, the town became a wasteland and is now one of the most rundown and depressed cities in the country.

In some factors, like affordability of housing and low unemployment, Grand Rapids Michigan (where I lived for a while) might seem "best" to some. But it can have brutal winters, has a lot of racism and intolerance and the drinking water is terrible.

There are plusses and minuses to every place. It is up to YOU to decide which factors are most important to you personally.

States are huge and have some very populated areas. Education bpbar is from school district to school district.

Weather isn't even the same for the whole state.

I would first check into the state's income tax and property tax
