Yes! I think it's totally fine. It's a really nice text that shows you're thinking about him before going to bed and you're hoping he has a good night out with his mates :)

He is out with his mates and if you expect a reply, then it's like you are checking up on him like his mum. That would be controlling. Are you like that, Mum?
It would be better if you just leave him alone and let him enjoy a night out without contacting him. That's what insecure girls do. They don't want the guy to go one single day without hearing from her.
