I am 15(male) and have had health problems all my life. I have asthma, I am overweight, used to haves seizures from ages 2 to 6, have terrible allergies, and used to have to do summer boost school programs all through elementary school. Am I right to feel most of theese problems came from my mother smoking while pregnant with me?? Am I right to feel dissapointed in her?? Or Am I just full of crap? (i ask because it really hurt me when I found this out.)

Do you have any idea how many women smoked during pregnancy up through the 1960's? Probably more than half of women were doing it in the 50's, and most of those baby boomer kids turned out just fine.
Smoking has been associated with lower birth weights and some birth defects. There could also be respiratory effects, so it's not impossible that your asthma is related to the smoking. But I have to point out that all of the things you describe can show up in kids whose mothers NEVER smoked and often do.
So, it's impossible to say whether your asthma is really the result of your mother's smoking or not. Being angry with her isn't going to accomplish anything now. You need to focus on getting yourself healthy. Losing weight would put less strain on your heart and lungs. You can't blame your mother for how much you eat.

Drinking, beyond the occasional glass of wine -- no more than one a week, maximum. Alcohol in substantial amounts can really result in fetal defects. Smoking -- well, it's been associated with low birth weights and possibly respiratory problems like asthma, but probably over half of pregnant women smoked in the 1950's, and their baby boomer babies turned out fine. Even as far as alcohol is concerned, it's not a major issue in moderation. In France, until very recently, women were told to drink red wine for its iron content and to limit smoking to five cigarettes a day. You may be sure that Frenchwomen were not giving birth to large numbers of defective babies. Not at all. But it's still best not to drink or smoke.

While it is not considered healthy to smoke when pregnant, many mothers DO smoke, and still give birth to healthy children. I doubt if any of the conditions you list were caused by your mother smoking; the one thing I have heard is that infants born to smokers tend to be underweight. That is about the only thing you DON'T list as a problem. I think you are just trying to find someone to blame for your problems, rather than taking some responsibility for your own health. No, you are NOT full of crap, but you are mistaken about it all being your mother's fault.
