By DEFINITION, it CAN'T be legal to break the law. In some situations, it is legal to do things that would be illegal in other situations, but it is not breaking the law in those cases.

Not usually, unless it is something like speeding and running red lights in order to rush someone to the hospital? Of course if you are acquitted, you are deemed not to have broken it. Perhaps just bent it a little.
