Why do liberals tolerate insults to Christianity as free speech but consider insults to Islam as hate speech that needs to be banned?

Even more amazing is that many of the criticism of Islam is that it is denying human rights, freedom of speech, freedom to woman and gays etc all of which are things that liberals stand for and desire.

The answer to your question requires a little background and requires more questions to peel back the onion. Both liberal & conservative group are fueled by the same engine & powers that be. The answer is not just the liberal media, but has been an evil force against Christianity itself for millennia.

Why have Christians been blamed for multiple atrocities in the text books and media (e.g. The Crusades, Inquisition, Salem Witch Burnings, etc.). Truth has been skewed, if you do your research you will see that true Christians were actually the ones who were killed in these events.

Ask yourself, why does the name Jesus elicit such a controversial response? He is the most controversial person of all time. He is the only one who claimed to be God (vs. Islam, Buddhism, Paganism, etc.). He literally split time (BC/AD).

I am a Christian. The truth to your question is there are evil forces at work to defame Christianity and the name of Jesus. The media will never talk as negatively about any other religion. Popular shows don t make fun of any other religion. People use God & Jesus s name in vein - why do they not say this about Muhammad or anything else?

I don't think they actively try to silence people who criticize Muslims.

There's simply the matter of how Islam isn't shy about making legitimate death threats, so, when you think about how liberals are actively the political thinkers who are more interested in protecting the environment, growing more natural foods, being healthy in general, then it isn't a stretch to imagine that they might think twice before doing something as bad for your health as pissing off a religion that has been actively committing acts of murderous terrorism for the past decade and, with the backing of nations, doesn't appear to be stopping any time soon.

I don't give a damn about insults to Islam. I simply don't think people should be should be called brave for daring psycho's to kill them, I also can't work up the anger, when they get what they asked for. Of course, once the killer is arrested, I would support the death penalty.
