It was the same GOP controlled congress that impeached Bill Clinton, that balanced the budget in the 1990s.?

The GOP lead Congress that you say got us to a balanced budget was bound by the PAYGO rules established by a Democratic controlled congress that preceded it. Once we got to that balanced budget, the discipline of the PAYGO rules fell by the wayside, and the law was allowed to expire in 2002. Then the GOP lead congress went on a spending and tax cutting spree.

And the same group of Republicans that abandoned the balanced budget to shower tax breaks on the wealthy once a Republican president was in office.

Clinton was not impeached. They tried , but he won. As far as the budget, he balanced it at the tax payers expense.

Clinton is now taking credit for all of the things he fought against as President. He fought against decreasing spending, he fought against welfare reform, he fought against everything in the Contract With America. It's downright shameful that he now takes credit for these achievements, but nobody in the media calls him out on it. I wonder if it becauae they are just too stupid or if it is beacause it bucks the liberal narrative.
