Windows how to set up a e-mail address?

OK troops I need someone to send me a link or give detailed instructions on how to set a e-mail address to windows 7 . . . . When I right click on a icon on my desktop and try to e-mail it , windows tells me there is no e-mail address assigned to my desk top . . . . .Thanks in advance for your help

Thanks for the help but when I open all programs there is not a listing for windows mail and if I type in windows mail in the search box what comes up does not have a tool menu . . . . . suggestions ?

Thanks for the Outlook info . . . . . I was trying to use an existing e-mail account . . . . . I don't wish to have a new e-mail account . . . . Is there any way to set that up ?

    Here's how to add an e mail account in Windows Mail:

    1.Open Windows Mail by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Mail.

    2.Click the Tools menu, and then click Accounts.

    3.Click Add. ...

    4.Click E‑mail Account, click Next, and then follow the instructions.

    In your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer), go to www.Outlook.com and create yourself an account.

    You now have an e-mail address.
