Nope. It means ARmilite 15. If you don't believe that, then check out the AR-5, which was a bolt action .22 Hornet survival rifle or the AR-7, which is a .22lr or the AR-10, which is technically a Battle Rifle due to it's larger caliber or AR-17, which was a shotgun.

Okay...........now what can I do?......to escalate this just a little more? Let me see?

    Edit: Joking aside.............. I remember buying a Rem 742 Woodmaster in 30.06 from a 5&10 store called "T.G.& Y".

I paid $169 + tax. But back then they also had the Armalite 15 for the same price- $169. It may not have been "mil-spec" but it looked like the M-16. A few people bought them....but they were just not a popular gun back then. Now look at them!

@Nikola, No, it means people who own them can afford them, when you're old enough maybe you could to if you didn't spend it on airsoft toys and COD.

No. It means Armalite Rifle, fifteenth model. Designed in Fairchild Aircraft's ArmaLite division back in the 1960's. Back when they had an ArmaLite division.
