French for 'yes'?

When i had my french exchange around, when they replied yes in french (oui) they answered like OU-EHY

Is this like our 'yeah'

    "Oui" is the normal "yes" (pronounced wee)

    "Ouais" is indeed the equivalent of "yeah" (pronounced weh)

    "Mouais" is ore like a skeptical "yeah" (pronounced mweh)

    "Si" is for contracdicting negative sentences (pronounced see)

    And this "OU-EHY" you can hear is halfway between "oui" and "ouais", like when you can't decide which one you want to say and you end up saying both, but it has no particular spelling, it's generally written just "oui" or "ouais" depending on which one it's closer to

    Most likely a non-Parisian regional dialect. Or maybe a slangy kind of thing.

    "Ouais", "ouai" and "mouais" are common informal forms of "oui", similar to 'yeah', 'yep', or 'yup' in English.
