There is a certain level of respect, participation and attentiveness that teachers have a right to demand from students. If you do not provide these things, then they have a right to remove you from the classroom.
Don't get into what other kids did, right or wrong, it's not about them and complaining about that will get you nowhere.
Go back to this teacher, say something like "I realize I was not respecting you and the class, and I've given it some thought and I want to apologize for the disruption. I value you as a teacher and what you do for us and I'm asking if you can give me a chance to be a student in your class again." Let him sound off, and just acknowledge him and tell him he's right, whatever he says. Chances are he'll end the conversation letting you back in and privately admiring you for your courage.

Remember what Buddy said in the movie Swimming with the Sharks: Shut up, listen, learn if you follow that advice and do as your told you'll be alright in life.
When your singled out by a teacher, a superior in the military, coach, boss or supervisor for your wrong doing silence don't argue with them doesn't matter if you think others around you are culprits the worst thing you can do is get on their bad side.

is it acceptable to not want a disruptive pupil in the drama class?
yes completely acceptable
if you genuinely think he is in the wrong, ask your parents to go to the school
if you think perhaps you could have been more polite and handled it better, go and apologise and ask to go back to drama class
