How do you find the area of a scalene triangle?

A scalene triangle has 3 unequal sides... i know how to find one when it gives me 2 sides to work with can i have the formula with an easy explanation?

    Hero answered this almost 2000 years ago. It is called Heron's formula. Let s = (a+b+c)/2, where a,b,c are sides. Then the area squared equals s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c). Take the square root of that and you will have the area.

    Given three sides of a triangle (a, b, c), use Heron's Formula...

    Area = √[s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)]

    where s = (a + b + c)/2 [the semi-perimeter]

    that will work for ANY TRIANGLE !!
