I bought a wireless router at a yard sale and when I bought it, he said that he has forgotten the password for it?
The router is a Linksys and I would like to know how to get pass this problem. I would like to make my own password.

If it has a reset button then, with it powered on, hold the button in for at least 10 seconds.
Some routers have a pin hole for the reset. Straighten a paper clip and push into the pinhole for 10 seconds.
This will put it back to factory settings. Usual IP address will be 192.168.0.1 or maybe 192.168.1.1. Google for default username and password.

Brand new routers are like $30 today, I hope you didn t pay over $5 for it. You have to reset the router to factory defaults by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds while its on.

You need to reset the router there should be a reset button on the router somewhere.
