Why are hard body parts more commonly found in the fossil record?

    Soft parts rot and slough off before petrification takes over.

    Bone petrifies easily, flesh does not.

    The other body parts are soft and turn to oozzze and drizzle away with rain, winds erosion, edibility. Good old bonz stay and stay.
