Should I get a 3DS or Wii U?

So I get paid this Friday and I'm debating between a Wii U or a "New" 3DS. Both have games I really want (Splatoon, Pokemon) so I'm stuck down the middle about which to get first.

I say to go for the 3DS, but only if you arn't a big fan of games such as Zelda and Xenoblade who have big releases coming up (or the series who already had some nice big releases). If this is so then I recommend Wii U so you can get your hands on those and won't have to wait (I'm personally the kind of person who needs those at most month of release). But overall the 3DS has more going for it in terms of stand alone games and quantity.

For an average (or over the top) Nintendo fan you have Pokemon (which I have personally spent hundreds of hours on and includes AS/OR, X/Y and Mystery Dungeon) , Zelda: A Link Between Worlds(and Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask), Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem Awakening, Yoshi's New Island, the list goes on and on (I may forget some here and there) . Those games alone could give you hours upon HOURS of entertainment and not to mention their replayability in some cases.

Then you also have the amazing other games also available on the 3DS such as Tales of the Abyss, Bravely Default, Persona Q (another game I've spent hundreds of hours on), the ENTIRE Eterian Odyssey series, Monster Hunter, Virtue's Last Reward, and that list too goes on and on.

Those games too provide endless amounts of entertainment and plus the system is portable which makes it all the more accessible and gives you all the more time to play these wonderful games. Also StreetPass is cool and is a nice little extra bonus.

But I do recommend sometime in the future, maybe when more games are out for it, that you get a Wii U since it does have its own value, but overall you will just have more time for the 3DS.

    Hope this helps :D

Depends what games interest you more. I personally find more use for my 3DS than my Wii U, however, I would consider myself more of a beginner gamer. I enjoy Mario Kart, Super Smash Brothers, but most games I like to play in parties. With that being said, I find I enjoy the individual games for the 3DS rather than the Wii U. I would consider what types of games you would like. I also have a limited attention span, so I find with the 3DS it's easier to stop and pause my game, simply by putting the 3DS in the sleep mode.

For the 3DS, some top games are: Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Theatrhythem Final Fantasy: Curtain Call, Monster Hunter 4, Pokemon, and Super Smash Brothers and Animal Crossings New Leaf.

For the Wii U there are Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Brothers, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, Bayonette 2.

I would say 3ds. The Wii U is fun and i like that console too, but it feels like a add on to the Wii. Also the 3ds is 3d so yeah do i have to say anything else about the 3d part? No? That's what i thought. But definitely test out the 3d first. It could bother your eyes.

Well, the New 3Ds is cheaper and the games are also cheaper, wich mean you could get more games on the 3DS than on the Wii U.

So, if money is a factor, I would recomend you to go New 3DS

But if money is not a factor, then go for Wii U.

If you don't already have a Wii, then get a Wii U. Otherwise go with the New 3DS. For me, I don't have the wii so I got the Wii U. I will prbably get the New 3DS for my son, but will play once in a while.

I would purchase the console that you prefer and that best serves your needs.

In reality both consoles are fantastic little system which offer great gaming experiences that you won't find anywhere else.

If I was you, I'd purchase the Wii U because there's nothing better than playing great Nintendo games in high definition.

Mario & co have never looked better, but the truth is whatever Nintendo system you get you're guaranteed a tonne of fun.

Get them both second hand, really cheap from eBay. I've got a 3DS with Pokemon Y. WHY can't Nintendo just put pokemon on the Wii U and make all our lives easier lol.

I'd recommend getting both in time, but if you can only do one at first, as yourself if you'll play it more at the house, or when you are out and about?

If the house, then go for Wii U, first. If anywhere else, then go for 3DS first.

It depends on if your friends have the Wii U or any 3DS console so that you can play with them with your new game. Also depends on if you intend to play more at home or when travelling.
