would a camera be a good gift for a guy?
I want to get something cool but I don't really know a whole lot about what kinds of things the guy likes. I was considering getting one of those fujifilm or polaroid cameras that instantly print photos. Would a guy find that useful or is it more of a girl type gift?

Yes, too sissy for me. I'd rather get a waterproof, drop-proof, shockproof, coldproof, sandproof, dusproof, weatherproof, crushproof, freezeproof and adventureproof camera like one of these.

These days with some pretty good cameras in every smart phone and that they are digital, a print camera is kind of anachronistic (interesting but obsolete).
The one exception - if you are offering to model for some bedroom shots, then these non-digital print cameras might be a intimate gift. Just make sure you are not sending the wrong message.
A nice Harmony Logitech remote might be a more neutral gift if he has a modest home theater setup.

A camera is a good gift for anybody. But if the person is not interested in taking pictures it's a waste of money.

honestly speaking, polaroid cameras is a girl thingy. Some guys do like camera, but they prefer those DSLR camera.
