Why would my credit score drop 40 points in 2 months?

Why would my credit score drop 40 pts in 2 months, just from charging $1,000 a month for 3 months, and then paying it off at the end of each month?

    There are 3 major credit bureaus and their scores can vary by 30-40 points.
