How do doctors treat thrush in women?
I'm positive I have thrush or a yeast infection ,i don't have bad symptoms but i have itching, odor and off colored discharge, all i want to know is how do doctors test or treat it? i'm terrified over a doctor checking me down there especially if its not a female doctor. I really want to just be clear of this as i'm holding off sex with my girlfriend because of it so i want to be sorted, but i just can't face a doctor without knowing what i'm going to deal with or what tests they're gonna.

If you've never seen that doctor saying "I have a yeast infection" before they'll probably want to either physically examine you or take a swab of your vagina. It's kind of hard for the layperson to tell the difference between bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection and since the same drug doesn't treat both conditions, they need to figure out what you've got.
The treatment for a yeast infection is usually miconazole nitrate (taken in vaginal cream or suppository form) or the antifungal diflucan. BV gets antibiotics. Mostly it'll clear up in a few days after treatment starts.

You dont have to see a doctor for a yeast infection. Just go to the pharmacy and get Monostat.

With medication. You can get medicine to treat it at the store or a CVS/Walgreens. They have OTC stuff for it
