Is it actually illegal to film a medical rescue or move in progress?
I was trying to film the fire department and EMTs resorting to sawing down a wall for a problematic next door neighbor's medical move, but my building manager says no, and asked me to delete what I documented out of legal reasons. I obliged and did as instructed, but is it true that filming it is illegal?

It depends upon whether or not you are on public property when you are filming. if you can see the scene from public property, it is not illegal. If you are standing on private property, the owner or agent of that property can tell you what you can and cannot do, where it does not encompass the "privacy of your own home", or within the premises you are renting.
You could be held liable by the victim or their family, depending upon what you then did with the film. But that is entirely another discussion.

That's really mean. Why would you do that? You seem like a vulture over a dying animal. What is wrong with you?
It's not illegal. But it should be for people like you who have no morals, ethics or even common sense.

If you are on private property the property owner, or in this case the building management, has control over what can and can't be done on the property.

There are privacy laws in effect, although if the patient's name or face aren't shown I don't know what the harm could be.

Why would you want to film someone in misery? Would you want someone filming you? I bet you did not delete it at all, did you?
