Removing a trojan virus?

Somehow I ended up getting a trojan on my computer. I've two trojan remover programs since then and used microsoft security essentials. I used each of them to scan my computer. Each of them found loads of dangerous files and deleted them. Now when I scan with either three, nothing bad shows up to delete but I still have the trojan. How can I get rid of it forever without paying a lot of money?

Update:

Also I don't want to factory reset my computer and lose all my files

Microsoft Security Essentials is not the best anti-virus you can get. Have a look at these articles for better choices - http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2388652,00.as... or http://www.techradar.com/us/news/software/applicat...

What I would suggest is that you create an anti-virus rescue disc from one of the utilities on the following list - http://pcsupport.about.com/od/system-security/tp/f...

Use a different computer to download and create the disc and then boot your infected computer from that disc and run a full scan. This will allow you to scan your computer and not allow any virus infected files to hide with the operating system.

So you need to boot from the antivirus recovery disc and then run a full scan. If you find any infected files remove them and then repeat this process. Keep repeating this process until you no longer find any infected files.

It would be best to anti-virus and malware scan the drive from a good system on another computer, because trying to install something to that system after the fact may be blocked. I could not seem to remove adware/malware using Malwarebytes after infection (even booted to safe mode) until I malware and anti-virus scanned my drive from another computer. Then Malwarebytes from the other computer was able to find the bad files (AVG also quarantined a file). With the drive back in the original laptop, I booted to safe mode, uninstalled/reinstalled Malwarebytes, then it was able to clean up the registry.

Ok, so, tell me exactly why there is a trojan in your computer, where it is located, and what it is doing...

If it is sending network packets then you should probably get it checked if it is in warranty.

If you can still use your computer then get a big USB and copy everything that you need, then factory reset...

    Good Luck

My method is to keep a good antivirus on my computer full time. As a result I never learn the names of viruses.

Download the free Malwarebytes if you have not and run a scan.
