Any good websites to learn about music and equipment?
I know there are many places to teach you how to play instruments and give you bits of information about the instruments, but does anyone know of any good places to learn about different types of microphones, guitars, amps, drums, cymbals, etc?

Hello there,
Most guitar forums have sections on gear. You can learn a lot by browsing through some of them. Marshall amps has a forum. Strat-Talk. TDPRI (telecaster forum), and there are several Les Paul forums. I am not a member there, but I do think there is a good Ibanez forum. Also various types of music have forums. For instance, I am a member of Surf Guitar 101. There is a lot of information about gear, mics, and recording there. I am sure other types of music have similar forums.

edx.org and coursera.org have a couple of full-on courses, but the ones I've seen are more on the tech-y side, focusing mostly on microphones and digital workstations. Nevertheless, it's worth a look.
