I always heard a real Alabama Slammer is supposed to be southern comfort, Amaretto, Sloe Gin, and a splash of lemon juice, that's also what my bartender book says but I always hear of it being made with Orange juice

Recipe for an AS
1/2 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce Southern Comfort
1/2 ounce amaretto
1/2 ounce sloe gin
Orange juice
Maybe it's your bartender that's wrong? The point of the orange juice is that SoCo is an orange based drink. Lemon juice makes no sense. Just wrong.
