Why is public transit so gross?

Here in China, buses and trains are crowded but not gross.

Blek! You didn't call it by its trendy new name called light rail. Its all in a name! Image is everything. Call it light rail to make it more posh and environmentally hip. Don't believe me? Look around you. Rebranding public transit as light rail or whatever else has been in place for some time now.

Why you're finding all the gross people using public transit? Because its so affordable, that's why. Free, or nearly free welcomes everyone on board. No exclusions. What time were you using public transit? The middle of the night?

Light rail or whatever ya wanna call it can be very nice. You should try the public transportation in Germany. Incredibly clean and oh so reliable. Portland, Oregon has has a good one too.

Public transport reflects the type of people who use it. The buses and trains are NOT built covered in obsecnities, with broken windows, or full of litter and filth. It is the passengers who make it that way.

It seems as though you live in a place where the public are particularly slobbish. If you take the trouble to move around the world a bit you will see that in most places the public respect their public transport and it is clean and serviceable, without being used as public toilets.

You can be reasonably sure that the staff who work on these buses and trains would rather be in a pleasant environment instead of spending their day in squalor. So don't blame the public transport, blame the public who create the mess and don't do anything about the people who do shiit over the rolling stock..

If you see someone vandalising a train or pisssing on the floor then stop him yourself of call a policeman. They only get away with it because ordinary people do nothing.

Certainly not in Europe. I've just traveled from a suburb of Liverpool to a suburb of London by local buses at each end and a train between the two centres without any problems.

if you have a problem, with the meth heads and the like you need to contact your local government. Most city/county governments have a .(dot) gov web-site .

Remember unless you complain the local government is not going to address the problem.

At least the people who have lost their DL per court order, are not on the road driving.

Yea I rode the bus one day and this homeless guy just stood up, pulled down his pants, and started taking a **** while saying something about the illuminati. Then he fapped and was telling us if we didn't get off he'd get his "cumuppance" on us!

People tend to take care of what they own. Not so much when they don't.

Yes it's bad everywhere - you have the dregs of society to ride along with.
