You mean Storage Space, to run out of memory is excessive use of games all loaded in the RAM and can be fixed by a restart. However PS3s will not have this problen with RAM since they have games specifically designed to meet their specs.

If you have a PS3 with "12gb" or storage, it has no hard drive at all and needs to have one installed.

If you have a hard drive and it's full, you'll need to get a new one. The contents of hard drives are encrypted though and can't be read in from other devices or copied directly from drive-to-drive. If you want to do this without losing data, you'll need to use a USB external drive (not a thumb drive) to back up the old hard drive, swap out with a new hard drive, then restore the backup.

You'll need to upgrade your HDD!
