How to find a part time job in Oz?
I live in England and am hoping to move to Australia in, hopefully, the next few years. I'm currently at uni so I need to finish uni first and have been planning on going out in January 2017 on a working holiday visa (subclass 417) so I need to start looking for jobs over there.
It's a bit of a struggle at the moment because obviously with part time jobs, I can't start the process now but I also don't want to leave it too late in case I don't find anything. I was planning on contacting employers out there and if I got the chance to visit in December/January time, I would liked to have met them but like I said, I don't think I can get anywhere by planning this early.
Does anyone have any experience in something like this or any ideas on what to do next? Thanks

Casual jobs in Australia usually go to the first person who applies who meets the requirements. You need to be here to get casual jobs. The only ones that you must apply for in advance are jobs at the ski resorts. Thousands of young people come here on WHVs every year and manage to find jobs easily enough.
One area you could look at is wwoofing - willing workers on organic farms - http://www.wwoof.com.au/ You don't get paid but you do get all meals and accommodation in exchange for some work. Be wary of employment agents particularly in rural areas. There have been disturbing reports of exploitation of backpackers recently.

The main purpose of a Working Holiday Visa is to have an extended holiday in Australia, picking up casual work to fund your travels. You can only work for six months for any employer. Finding a job before you come here will be next to impossible. You are expected to pick up jobs such as bar and cafe work or anything in the hospitality industry, fruit picking, shop work etc. Working full time for 12 months is not what this visa is all about.
If you stay in hostels when you arrive you will find job offers and work out the job network. Or, closer to the time, you could contact Outback resorts, Whitsunday island resorts, even the ski resorts before winter, to see if you can put your name down for a job. To work in licensed cafes and in hotels you will need a Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) certificate, it can be done online except in Victoria, but do that in the weeks before you leave home.

The chick next door was from Korea, the other week she lose her job because of losing her job they didn't renew her visa. I'm thinking if they asked her to leave and didn't give her chance to get another job, plus she was very easy on the eye, things can't be good.
In addition, I wouldn't be expecting to find work easily if I were you and if you want my opinion why they asked my neighbour to leave, there aren't enough jobs for Australians at the moment let alone for those from overseas.
