It was the Bears 73 - 0 as others have told you. The Redskins were also involved in the highest score during the regular season when they beat the Giants 72–41 in 1966. That was both the highest score for a single team during the regular season and the highest combined score. I remember that game.

Bears 73, Redskins 0 in 1940 is correct. There is a sequel to this, though. The two teams met again in the 1942 championship game. For the final team talk before the game, the Redskins coach, Ray Flaherty, simply walked up to the blackboard and wrote 73 - 0. Then he sat down. The Redskins won.

Darren is right, 73-0 Bears vs Skins. And it was in a championship game. It was the 1940 title game.

I read that Sammy Baugh was of the belief that his teammates threw the game. The Skins actually BEAT that same Bears team 7-3 earlier that year. Baugh believes gamblers bribed his teammates who simply gave no effort in the game.

Not sure, but I think the highest scoring playoff game was the Saints vs Cards with Brees vs Warner.
