If a guy you are dating asks for space, how long do you stay away? Also has anyone given their guy space and they came back?

Okay so the me and my boyfriend have been together almost two and a half years and until last month never needed space BUT it helped so much. I had a loss to someone very close to me and he had some very bad news in the family to, we just wanted to spend a few days together but I had important exams coming up a funeral to sort out and he is working really hard for a knew car and helping out and visiting family, we started taking it out on each other and arguing and it was the worst thing I have ever been through.

We talked about space, and my heart dropped. We both had said before space was such a stupid idea. However we agreed to just not talk, and as we couldn't meet much anyway we agreed not to meet for the week, the rule was we are still together we still stay loyal and we still act the same way.

We met on the sunday and put all cards on the table about if we stuck to our rules (which we both did) then we spent all day in each others arms kissing and just being there for each other! He is the sweetest, he then admitted he had to work so much to pay off for the john legend tickets he had got as a surprise for me, because of the los. I love him to bits and it made us both realise what we mean to each other.

I hope I never have to do it again because that week was horrid, but it puts everything into perspective. Space is healthy.
